We really loved it, especially its atmosphere and staff. Standard king room was with a work desk, a seating area and a radio. It deserves its 4 stars.

It was clean and the room was a perfect size for a solo traveler. The staff were very friendly and helpful with the requests I had. Central Hotel is in a perfect location and is definitely a place I will stay again.

Location is ideal within a few minutes walking distance of Central station, Gamla Stan and shopping area. There is a Tourist Office on the street and a stop for the sightseeing bus. There are also reasonably priced, by Stockholm standards, restaurants and cafes nearby. The hotel itself is very nice with a cleverly designed glass atrium linking two parts of the hotel. This creates a spacious, bright and cheerful atmosphere and fills the reception area with light. The breakfast room is located on the first floor in the atrium area. Breakfast was good. Leading off this is an open air patio. My single room was spacious and pleasant with a large bathroom. There was free tea, coffee and biscuits available in the reception area and the internet was free.
The hotel has character but I felt it needs to keep up to speed with repainting etc. The room did not not have air conditioning(or I didn't find it).

Everything was excellent, especially invisible but evident staff service and room cleaning, the Swedish buffet, welcome coffee/tee/cookies in the lobby, perfect location: proximity to the T-Centralen station and easy reach to all main sights.
Continuous noise in the yard from rubbish collecting vehicles in the early morning.

I booked a small single room, at an attractive price, and it was the best small single room I have ever been to. Very functional and well-arranged, with all the hooks, shelves, etc. Perfect use of every square inch! And lots of daylight from the large window.
In the breakfast area guests do not always notice the extension room with more tables inside, and keep looking /waiting for spare tables. A sign saying "More tables here!" might be a good idea.
